A passport
More money

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I have two actually
February 14, 2003: Got laid off from work on that day, and yet had a romantic evening with hammercock, Pho, and David Copperfield

April 15, 2003: In a moment of clarity (or insanity), I suddenly hopped on a plane to Miami just to wish my mother a happy 50th birthday in person. It was bittersweet since it was also when I found out about hammercock/cz_unit imploding 1000+ miles away.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Moving to the continuum and getting a contractor's gig. Still being with hammercock after nearly 1.5 years. Still being alive after 26 years.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Losing a job that I held for over 2 years before I got burnout.

Colds. Backaches. Discovered that I was allergic to macademia nuts for the first time in 2003

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A Mittens and Snowdrop T-shirt for hammercock. The look on her face was priceless.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? what?
Both families: the one in Miami and the one I am forming here in MA. Warmth, caring, love. Especially hammercock who has just been there for me

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
One of my housemates from Barad-Dur. She's gone now. Thank goodness

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, paying down debt, DVDs, and food, most likely

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Going to London in February

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
"All Things Keep Getting Better" or "The Middle"

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier in most ways
ii. thinner or fatter? No change which sucks
iii. richer or poorer? No change

I can think of two...
"Beautiful Day" by U2

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace

It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out

It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World

Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle, it'll up the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, you know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, so don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough for someone else.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just do your best, do everything you can.
And don't you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
